As an elegant coach, one of my goals is to make you gain some time. I want to see you reach your goals faster than I did! Which means, I am willing to give you the tips that took me a while to get.
When we start a journey, we are so overly enthusiastic about learning that we dive into all the new things we should do but we don't necessarily see the things we should stop doing. Here are 8 common mistakes we do when we start our journey towards our most elegant version of ourselves:

1. Overdressing: Trying too hard to appear elegant can result in overdoing it with accessories, makeup, or clothing. To avoid this, opt for a more minimalist and understated approach. Choose one statement piece and keep the rest of your look simple. One other thing is to think that
wearing items with overly visible luxury logos on them is classy while it just makes you look like a walking billboard and trying too hard. Avoid ostentatious choices and opt for quiet luxury. Elegance doesn't brag, it is simplicity.

2. Neglecting grooming: Personal grooming is essential for appearing elegant. Neglecting basic hygiene or not paying attention to details like neat hair, clean nails, and well-maintained skin can undermine your efforts. Take the time to care for yourself and maintain a polished appearance. It doesn't need to be over the top all the time, just neat and clean.
3. Poor posture: Slouching or having poor posture can instantly diminish elegance. Practice good posture by standing tall, keeping your shoulders back, and your head held high. Regular exercise and activities like pilates, ballet or swimming can help improve posture.
4. Lack of confidence: Confidence is key to appearing elegant. If you lack self-assurance, it can be challenging to exude elegance. Work on building your self-esteem through self-care, positive affirmations (you can listen to my positive affirmations videos on my Youtube Channel Madame Kabongo, available in the playlist "Affirmations for the elegant woman"), and surrounding yourself with supportive people.
5. Ignoring manners and etiquette: Manners and etiquette play a significant role in elegance. Being rude, interrupting others, or neglecting basic social graces can undermine your efforts. Educate yourself on proper etiquette and practice good manners in all situations.

6. Trying to imitate others: Trying to copy someone else's style or mannerisms can come across as inauthentic. Instead, focus on developing your own unique sense of style and grace. Experiment with different looks and find what works best for you.

7. Neglecting kindness and empathy: True elegance goes beyond appearances. It involves treating others with kindness, respect, and empathy. Avoid being judgmental or dismissive of others and strive to be compassionate and understanding.

8.Poor verbal expression: You can be physically appealing and well-dressed, even with good posture but if your language is "poor" it will just ruin all your efforts. Avoid being too loud or vulgar.
